Lead generation
Lead generation website for small business: built to get enquiries
A small business website has one practical job: to turn a visitor into someone you can get back to. This page covers what counts as a lead, how the $99/month site captures one, and how to measure it honestly.
- Included capture
- Form, click-to-call, WhatsApp
- Lead numbers
- Never promised in advance
- Marketing services
- Scoped and quoted separately
- Monthly price
- $99/month, unchanged by marketing
Lead generation
A website that produces enquiries,
not just impressions.
Traffic is not the goal. The goal is a named person, with a phone number, who wants what you sell. Everything below exists to shorten the distance between those two things.
Conversion-focused pages
Every page has one obvious next step. No dead ends, no "learn more" that leads nowhere.
Forms that get finished
Short, correctly keyboarded on mobile, with spam protection that doesn't punish real people.
Call & WhatsApp capture
One-tap contact on every screen — the fastest route from interest to conversation.
Calculators & qualifiers
Quote estimators and short quizzes that give the visitor something useful and give you a better-qualified lead.
Routing into your CRM
Leads arrive already structured in HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive or wherever you actually work.
Instant acknowledgement
An automatic reply the moment someone enquires, so nobody is left wondering whether it sent.
Booking & appointments
Let people book real availability instead of trading messages about times.
Attribution
You'll know which channel, page and campaign produced each enquiry — not just that the phone rang.
Included vs add-on
Contact form, click-to-call and WhatsApp are included in the $99/month build. Calculators, CRM routing, booking systems and automation are additional services — quoted before any work starts.
Digital marketing
Once the site is right,
marketing has somewhere to land.
Sending paid traffic to a weak website is the most expensive mistake in small-business marketing. We build the destination first, then drive people to it.
SEO & content
Keyword and intent research, technical fixes, page structure and an ongoing content plan aimed at the searches that actually convert.
Local SEO & Google Business Profile
Map visibility, consistent business information, location pages and a review workflow you can actually keep up with.
Paid search — Google Ads
Campaign structure, keywords, negatives, ad copy and landing pages built to catch people already looking for you.
Paid social — Meta Ads
Facebook and Instagram campaigns, audience building, creative testing and retargeting for people who haven't started searching yet.
Email & marketing automation
Nurture sequences, lifecycle campaigns and follow-up that runs whether or not anyone remembers to send it.
Copy & creative
Ad copy, landing page copy and creative direction — written to be specific about your offer rather than vaguely enthusiastic.
Conversion rate optimisation
Improving what happens after the click, so the same spend produces more enquiries.
Analytics & reporting
GA4, Tag Manager and conversion tracking configured properly, with reporting in plain English.
How it's priced
Marketing is an additional service, scoped and quoted before work begins. Ad spend is paid by you directly to Google or Meta and is separate from any management fee. Your $99/month website subscription doesn't change.
Google Ads vs Meta Ads
Different intent.
Different job.
These platforms are not competitors doing the same thing at different prices. They catch people at opposite ends of the buying decision — which is why the honest answer is usually "start with one, add the other once it works".
Google Ads
Someone types "emergency plumber near me" and you appear. They already have the problem, they're already looking for the solution, and they're often ready to call today.
Reaches people actively searching right now
Shorter path from click to enquiry
Intent is explicit — the keyword tells you what they want
Competitive keywords can be expensive per click
Limited by how many people are searching
Can't create demand that doesn't exist yet
Meta Ads
Someone scrolling Instagram sees your work and realises they want it. They weren't looking for you — you interrupted them well enough that they stopped.
Reaches people before they start searching
Usually cheaper per click and per thousand views
Visual — strong for anything with a visible result
Excellent for retargeting past visitors
Colder audience — longer path to a decision
Depends heavily on creative; needs regular new material
The difference, line by line
| Google Ads | Meta Ads | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Captures demand that already exists | Creates demand that doesn't exist yet |
| How you're found | They search for you | You appear in their feed |
| Targeting is based on | Keywords, search terms, location | Interests, behaviour, demographics, lookalikes |
| Buyer intent at the click | High — often ready now | Low to medium — often just curious |
| Typical cost per click | Higher | Lower |
| Typical conversion rate | Higher | Lower, but at more volume |
| Main formats | Text search ads, Maps, Shopping, YouTube, display | Image, video, carousel, Reels, Stories |
| Creative demand | Lower — copy and structure matter most | High — creative is the main lever, and it fatigues |
| Speed to first enquiry | Often days | Often weeks — audiences need to warm up |
| Retargeting strength | Good | Excellent |
| Scales by | Search volume — capped by demand | Audience size — far larger ceiling |
| Best first move for | Urgent, local and problem-driven services | Visual, discretionary and impulse-friendly offers |
Pick the one that matches intent
If people already search for your service, start with Google. If they'd never think to search for it, start with Meta. Splitting a small budget across both usually means neither gets enough data to work.
Meta warms, Google closes
Used together, Meta introduces you to people who've never heard of you, and Google catches them later when they search your name or your service. Retargeting joins the two.
The landing page decides it
Both platforms send traffic to a page. If that page is slow, unclear or awkward on a phone, the platform gets blamed for what the website did. That's the part we fix first.
SEO & marketing
Built so you can be found — and so campaigns have somewhere to land.
Basic SEO setup is included in every build. It won't buy you rankings overnight, but without it nothing else in marketing works properly.
On-page foundations
Unique titles and meta descriptions, correct heading structure, descriptive image alt text.
Technical basics
XML sitemap, robots directives, canonical URLs, clean indexable structure.
Local signals
Business name, address and phone marked up consistently, plus service-area content and map.
Analytics-ready
Google Analytics and Tag Manager wired at launch so campaign data is there from day one.
Share-ready
Open Graph and Twitter cards so your link looks right in messages, ads and social posts.
Speed as an SEO factor
Lean pages and compressed assets, because slow mobile pages are penalised twice over.
Definitions
What a lead actually is for a small business
A lead is not a visit, a like or an impression. For most small businesses it is one of four things: a completed enquiry form, a phone call, a WhatsApp message or a booking. Each one gives you a named person and a way to reach them.
Not every lead is a good one. A useful lead is someone in your service area, asking for something you do, at a time you can do it. The website helps by stating those things plainly, so people who are not a fit can tell before they contact you. A smaller number of enquiries you can actually take is often worth more than a full inbox of ones you cannot.
Capture
How the $99/month site captures an enquiry
Every $99/month build includes three ways to get in touch, visible on every page and every screen size:
- A contact form delivered to your inbox, tested before launch, with spam protection that works in the background instead of making real people solve puzzles.
- Click-to-call: one tap on a phone starts the call. This matters most for urgent work, where people want to talk to someone now.
- WhatsApp: one tap opens a chat with your business number. Many people would rather message than call, particularly outside working hours or when it is easier to send a photo of the problem.
The form is kept short on purpose. A name, a way to reach them and a sentence about what they need is usually enough to start the conversation. Anything you can ask on the phone does not need to be a form field. Submissions go to your inbox, not ours.
Measurement
Measuring enquiries honestly
The site is analytics-ready at launch, so form submissions, call taps and WhatsApp taps can be counted alongside where visitors came from. That is useful, and it has limits worth knowing:
- A tap is not a conversation. Analytics can record that someone tapped the call or WhatsApp button. It cannot see whether the call connected or the message was sent.
- Some contact happens away from the site. Someone who notes your number and dials it later, calls from your Google Business Profile or remembers your van will not appear as a website lead.
- Not every visit is counted. Cookie choices, ad blockers and browser privacy settings mean analytics record fewer visits than really happened.
- Small numbers swing. With a handful of enquiries a month, one busy or quiet week changes any percentage sharply. Compare totals over several months before drawing conclusions.
The simplest check costs nothing: ask every new customer how they found you, and write it down. Put that next to the analytics and you will have a fairer picture than either gives on its own.
What is included
Included in $99/month, and what is a quoted marketing service
Included in the $99/month program: the website itself, written to explain what you do and where; the contact form, click-to-call and WhatsApp; basic SEO setup with titles, descriptions, headings, a sitemap, indexing and local signals; an analytics-ready build; and ongoing management, so a changed phone number or a new service is updated for you.
Quoted separately: work that brings more people to the site or does more with them once they arrive. That covers ongoing SEO and Local SEO, Google Business Profile optimization, Google Ads and Meta Ads management, campaign landing pages, conversion rate optimization, full GA4 event and conversion tracking, and follow-up systems. The full list is on the additional services page.
A sensible order is to launch the included site, see what it produces on its own, and only then decide whether paid traffic or ongoing SEO is worth the spend.
